Church leaders and members from across Kiribati gathered for a combined worship service at the Kiribati Uniting Church (KUC) Headquarters Maneaba on 10 July, expressing thanksgiving, unity, and prayer ahead of the nation’s Independence Day celebrations on 12 July.
The service brought together representatives from 14 churches in corporate worship, reflecting their shared commitment to pray for the nation and give thanks for God’s faithfulness to the people of Kiribati.
Sermons were delivered by the KUC moderator, the vicar general of the Catholic church, a bishop from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a pastor from the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Their participation fostered a spirit of fellowship that transcended denominational traditions.
Reflecting on the significance of the service, KUC expressed gratitude for God’s continued guidance and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening worship, deepening fellowship, and preparing faithfully for its forthcoming General Assembly in late August.
