The general secretaries of the Council for World Mission (CWM), the Community of Churches in Mission (Cevaa), and the United Evangelical Mission (UEM) held their annual meeting at the UEM office in Wuppertal, Germany, from 11 to 12 May.
The two-day gathering brought together CWM General Secretary Rev. Dr Jooseop Keum, UEM General Secretary Rev. Dr Andar Parlindungan, and Cevaa General Secretary Rev. Claudia Schulz for a time of devotion, organisational updates, shared reflection, and strategic planning.
The meeting included morning devotions led by Schulz and Keum, updates from UEM, CWM, and Cevaa, and a review of the previous meeting minutes. Discussions also focused on the evaluation and next steps following the Joint Mission Conference in Rwanda in November 2025, including the comprehensive programme, financial reports, and future directions.
On the second day, participants explored programmatic cooperation among Cevaa, CWM, and UEM. Areas of discussion included youth and women’s programmes.
Cevaa, CWM, and UEM share common roots and a shared purpose as partnerships of Protestant faith communities around the world. Over the years, the three mission organisations have continued to pursue paradigm shifts towards becoming international mission bodies committed to equal participation in membership, round-table models of decision-making, and equitable sharing of resources, regardless of geographical location or numerical strength.
Reflecting on the partnership, Keum emphasised the importance of continued accompaniment among the three organisations.
“The three organisations are companions journeying together in God’s mission,” Keum said.
The annual meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Cevaa, CWM, and UEM to strengthen cooperation in mission, ecumenical formation, and shared witness in a rapidly changing world.
