DARE brings together the radical soul of discernment and sense-making in theology and biblical criticism; with the yearnings for signifying engagement that rise out of the slums of modernity and the valleys of despair, and; the commitment to redemption songs that inspire disturbance at the hubs of power.

A CWM initiative to enable the Church in its public witness, DARE facilitates listening and discernment spaces where the gift of God’s spirit guides missional responses and engagement with life-denying issues of our time. DARE aims to provide biblical and theological resources for CWM members on the nine themes of CWM, possibly through soft and hardcopy publications.

The DARE Conferences provide ample opportunities for CWM to engage in biblical and theological conversation at a scholarly level. CWM has built and supported schools and seminaries throughout the world, and DARE presents an opportunity for CWM to affirm its commitment to education and contribute toward directing biblical and theological scholarship into the future.

DARE aims to provide biblical and theological resources on the nine CWM global themes for its members – Children and Young People; Economic Justice; Climate Change; Evangelism; Human Trafficking; Interfaith Relations and Ecumenism; Inclusive Communities against De-humanising Social Categorisations; Militarisation and Conflict; and Worship and Discipleship.

The DARE Conferences are opportunities for CWM to take CWM’s commitment to education into another sphere, contributing toward directing biblical and theological scholarship into the future.
