Council for World Mission (CWM) congratulates Rev. Nan Wyn Powell-Davies, the General Secretary elect of the Presbyterian Church of Wales (PCW). She is currently serving the PCW as Assistant Director of Ministries. The Moderator of the PCW General Assembly, Rev Evan Morgan shared the news of Rev. Powell-Davies’s selection as the prospective GS of the PCW through the Facebook and congratulated her.

Born in Waunfawr, Rev. Powell-Davies joined the PCW ministry as a children and youth worker. After completing her training for the ministry, she served the PCW as a voluntary minister with her husband, the Rev. Huw Powell-Davies at the Mold District Pastorate. She also served as Chaplain at Altcourse Prison before being appointed as Assistant Director of Ministries.

Through her leadership as the General Secretary, Rev. Powell-Davies envisions to bring the PCW closer to the member Churches and work in close partnership with the CWM in facing the challenges together as the CWM family.

Rev. Powell-Davies is a Core Group member of the CWM Legacies of Slavery Project and when the news came, she is in the LoS Core Group Drafting committee meeting in London.

She will start her work in the early summer this year. As she prepares for her greater work at the PCW, we pray for God’s continued wisdom and discernment to serve the Church and community, at large, with renewed vision.
