Hearing God’s Cry: Advent Visions and Meditations

by CWM Communications Team

Advent, the time of the Church calendar year where we prepare our hearts for Christ’s coming at Christmas. During these four Sundays before Christmas, we reflect with anticipation of Christ’s coming before we celebrate the hope of Jesus’ birth at Christmas. This expectancy akin to a seed of hope lies dormant, and springs forth in the joy of Christ’s birth.

These Advent meditations and images produced by CWM are shared to inspire a spirituality of discernment which will find its voice and vision in a justice-centred mission which speaks up to disturb the order of the world and the church. We hope they will help your church, family, friends or small group prepare their hearts to commemorate the birth of Jesus.

The original artwork was commissioned by CWM and is the work of K. Immanuel Paul Vivekanandh, Communication Secretary of the United Evangelical Lutheran Churches in India.

The words are supplied by Rev Dr Peter Cruchley, and these can be used and developed according to your own inspiration and the need of the situation.
