CWM Welcomes Bornface Mafwela as new Partner in Mission

by Cheon Young Cheol

The Council for World Mission is pleased to welcome Bornface Mafwela to the Partner in Mission (PIM) team, where he will serve as Project Manager with the Churches of Christ in Malawi (CCM) effective 11 November.

With his appointment, Mafwela will play a vital role in implementing Mission Support Programme initiatives, which will be launched across five districts in Malawi.  These initiatives will not only focus on crop cultivation and animal production, but also provide support for the economic transformation of the local communities.

Mafwela brings with him a broad spectrum of experience in project management, having previously served as the Project Secretary with the United Church of Zambia for 12 years.  He has also worked and contributed his skills as a humanitarian aid professional with Norwegian Church Aid and DanChurch Aid.

“The partnership between the United Church of Zambia and the Churches of Christ in Malawi through the Partners in Mission Programme is not only a testament to our commitment to sharing resources but also a powerful reminder of God’s call to journey together as one body,” declared Rev. Julie Sim, CWM Mission Secretary for Mission Programme and Partnership, adding that no church, as they work towards fulfilling God’s mission, is too small to contribute, nor too big to receive.
