Taiwan church plays cupid on blind date

Taiwanese singles searching for their one true love were given a helping hand when church leaders played cupid and organised a mass blind date.
Young single adults from various churches across Taiwan gathered at a restaurant in Tainan city to take part in a group blind date sponsored by Tainan Presbytery’s Church and Society Committee.
Around 66 Christians braved chilly temperatures to travel to the venue in the hopes of finding their perfect match at what is the church's fourth event of this kind.
Caymans drive DO Something project

Religious leaders in the Cayman Islands have launched a special project to get teenagers volunteering in their local communties.
The Cayman Ministers Association has set up the DO Something Cayman campaign to encourage at least 2,000 young volunteers to come together with civic, business and church organisations to address key community issues including family, education and the environment.
As part of the project the association invited Miles McPherson, pastor of the Rock Church and Academy and president of Miles Ahead Ministries, to inspire youngsters in his keynote speach at the Young Cayman Leaders Association gala last month.
World Day of Prayer

On Friday 5 March, women and men from all over the world – 170 countries – will unite in prayer as a celebration and as a sign of commitment to their worldwide fellowship.
The world day of prayer began 150 years ago with a small group of women praying for the needs of women and children.
This year's worship has been prepared by the women of the Republic of Cameroon on the theme, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord."

The LMS established Kapuna Rural Hospital has celebrated 60 years of service in Papua New Guinea.
Sixteen members of family of the pioneer missionary doctors Peter and Lin Calvert, made the trip from New Zealand in January to attend, the Post-Courier reported.
Churches worldwide remember Steve de Gruchy

Churches throughout southern Africa and across the world are mourning the loss of Rev Prof Steve de Gruchy, who disappeared while tubing on the rapids of the Mooi River, South Africa, on Sunday 21 February.
CNI attacks spark anti-Christian fears

Church of North India leaders have voiced fears for a Christian community in Punjab after two churches and their priests were attacked by Hindu extremists.
CNI's Church of Epiphany in Batala was vandalised and its ministers assaulted in what is believed to be a premeditated anti-Christian attack.
CNI General Secretary Rev Dr Enos Das Pradhan, who is currently in London attending the Council for World Mission's Strategic Planning Meeting, said Christians from the region were facing "serious threat to life" from Hindu extremists.
