The Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand has issued a special eco-booklet to get church members thinking about how they can help make a positive contribution to the environment.

Entitled Caring for Creation, the book encourages congregations to reflect on the ecological challenges facing the planet and to show how churches can make the link between the environment and their faith and respond.

It has been produced as part of a pledge the Presbyterian Church made in 2008 to study environmental and climate change issues – and will aim to help assist congregations in carrying this out.

Caring for Creation is the fifth in a series of study booklets that the church has produced to get its congregations thinking about contemporary issues that affect their communities.

Addressing topics such as air pollution, refugee resettlement and over population, the book is also being sent out to organisations concerned about ecological problems to let them know what steps the church is taking as part of its own contribution to saving the planet.
