Christians in Orissa have braced themselves for fresh attacks of violence following the murder of another senior Hindu activist, Christian Today reported on 7 November.
Dhanu Pradhani, a member of the Hindu nationalist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was shot dead by a group of unidentified Maoists. There are fears that Christians in the region will be targeted in further attacks as a result of the killing. Violence broke out in Orissa back in August after Christians were accused of carrying out the murder of a Hindu leader.
Since the attacks began, more than 50,000 people have been forced to flee from their homes and 300 churches have been torched.
